Perhaps it was the couch-jumping incident on the Oprah Winfrey show, but for some reason Tom Cruise rubs many people the wrong way. For a span of nearly 20 years, he was box office gold and heck, hes still doing pretty well but its actually the Scientology thing that gets most of usmore so than the couch jumping thing.

The world of luxury and fashion is, in many ways, alien to us regular human beings. Beyond watching repeats of Project Runway, most of us do not get exposed to the inner-working of the fashion industry. While the world of fashion is something that many of us view from afar, one thing recently happened that made the industry seem a bit, well, human.
A disgruntled, former IT worker for the U.S. division of Gucci sought revenge by shutting shut down servers and deleting data causing damage and lost productivity costs estimated at $200,000 in the process.
Here are some more details about this incident from The Register:
Gucci lost access to documents and email for nearly 24 hours, while other documents and emails were permanently lost. The attack relied on the use of a fictitious VPN access account allegedly established by Yin while still on Guccis payroll.

Recently we did a post about GE being targeted by hackers, which automatically made us ponder what Jack Donaghy, Alec Baldwins fictional character on NBCs 30 Rock, would do to fix this issue. Well, we guess that since he is playing the Cable Town game these days, probably not much. Though another data breach made us think of another pop culture reference.
Thanks to a vulnerability exposed by the third-party company that manages the online state park pass purchases for Maine State Parks, those who bought park passes online last year may have had their credit card information exposed. So, how would Leslie Knope, the fictional character played brilliantly by Amy Poehler on the NBC show Parks and Recreation, handle this data breach? Since she is very passionate about serving the people of Pawnee, Indiana, she would have mostly likely fallen on her sword and taken the blame. Sh

Who does not love the movie Ferris Buellers Day Off? Its like pizza or the Beatles. Its something that we all can agree upon. Well, one of the things that makes the movie such a classic are the shenanigans that Matthew Brodericks character, Ferris Bueller, pulls off. From convincing his best friend to borrow his Dads Ferrari to skip school for an adventurous day in the city, to yes, hacking into his schools computer system to change his grades and attendance record.
Funny tricks pulled of by a lovable character who makes us all want to be a bit like him someone who games the system with smarts and charm. Well, a real life high school student tried to pull of a similar stunt by hacking into his schools network to change his grades and guess what he got. If you say, the girl that is unfortunately incorrect. He is going to get jail time.
Omar Khan, who is now 21 years old (he did the hacks in 2008), pleaded guilty this week and hes expected to face 30 days in jail, a fine of around $15,000 and 500 hours of community service.
So, what do you think? Is jail time a bit too extreme? Nobody was hurt in this crime. Though justice may need to prevail otherwise many other witty and computer-literate high school students would try to pull of a similar stunt. Heck, its
